Introduction:

This exercise is designed to help in a variety of aspects because it develops finger work that you’ll use for the rest of your guitar playing life – including chords.

Notes:

  • Keep your picking hand resting somewhere on the guitar such as the bridge or unplayed strings
  • Your fretting hand’s thumb should “hook” on top of the neck, like a coat hanger
  • Notice that we write this on the top line, which is the High E string
  • Feel free to move this to any string, but the only real necessary string would be the High E
  • Our tablature is written below:
