FAQ

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with how our tuition system works. There’s a good chance that the answer to your questions is found below!

All of our lessons run on a weekly basis, following the NSW public school weeks.

Student’s lesson day/time is the same each week during the term.

During public school holidays, the regular timetable does not run, but students can book additional lessons by appointment during this time

We have spare guitars at the studio that any student is welcome to use at any time.

We also have a free guitar rental program for any enrolled student, meaning you can take one of our spare guitars home for up to five weeks.

Ideally, we recommend buying your own guitar as soon as possible.

Parents are often reluctant to invest in an instrument until they can see that their child is going to pursue music long term. But by not having they miss out on the excitement of having your own instrument. They also can’t practice at home, which greatly diminishes progress and results in a loss of interest. Additionally, they will quickly fall behind if they’re learning in a group.

We run our lessons on a timetable that follows the NSW school term weeks. There are typically four 10 week terms per year.
Our prices are a flat rate per term, so it won’t change even if there are more weeks in a term.

Private lessons can be rescheduled with 24 hours. For absences with less than 24 hours notice, we will send a video lesson, filmed by your teacher in place of your booked lesson.

We do not offer catch-up lessons for group learning due to the fact that the class still runs with the remaining attending students.

Once enrolled, you’ll receive an email from our Direct Debit provider, requesting setup of direct debit.

You can pay using a bank account or credit card (surcharge applies).

We’ll then email an invoice and your nominated account will be debited on the invoice’s due date.

Your nominated account will be debited 7 days before a term starts.

If you’re joining us after a term has already commenced, we’ll organise a different date for you.

Students can pay by instalments by applying for a payment plan when they receive their first invoice.

Whilst the invoice is typically due at the start of a term, we are happy for students to pay by two equal instalments.

You can apply for this when receiving your first invoice.

We’re happy to provide our term discount to anyone starting during a term. They will simply receive a reduced invoice to cover the remaining portion.

For example, if you’re starting in week 3 in a 10 week term, then your invoice will be 80% of the total term price (for weeks 3-10).

We only operate on a term system, which is how we provide our discounted prices.

Individual, one-off lessons can be booked during school holidays.

Additional bookings can be made in the holidays. These just operate by appointment.

The regular timetable doesn’t run in holidays, so students can book some of their catch up or rescheduled lessons.

Believe it or not, guitar teacher are humans too, and we sometimes become ill of have emergencies.

In the event of a tutor absence we’ll either organise a substitute teacher, or will ran catch up classes for students at a later date. This is tends to be the better option because staying with your regular teacher is usually more ideal.

Our prices compare to the Music Teacher’s Association recommended minimum rate of $65 per lesson, excluding any necessary lesson materials, exam fees etc.

Simply let us know seven days before a term starts and you won’t be charged for the following term.
